Club Objectives

The purpose of the Club is to provide a social network for members to share their enthusiasm for the Marcos marque, and for those fortunate enough to own a Marcos to make ownership even more enjoyable. However, you definitely do not need to own a Marcos to enjoy the benefits of membership.

The quarterly magazine keeps members informed of the many Club activities and members are encouraged to contribute any article of technical or general interest for publication, or simply a favourite photograph of their car. The magazine also lists 'For Sale' and 'Wanted' advertisements, together with a limited number of commercial adverts of interest to members.

Social activities are included in a full calendar of events suitable for all the family. These range from lunch time and evening pub meetings, to skittles evenings, to local shows (where members can show off their cars!), or just to meet up with other enthusiasts. There are also Club entries at the many national and regional car events throughout the UK.

We advertise a variety of insurance companies whose financial contribution to Club funds means more scope for continuing improvement to member services.

Le Mans 2017 - Classic British Welcome Friday 16 June 2017

Letter from David Williams, Vice President, St Saturnin Classic British Welcome to all Marcos owners:

The "Classic British Welcome" festival (or "CBW") was founded sixteen years ago and quickly became one of the highlights of the week of the Le Mans 24 hour. Today it is a meeting point for some 8,000 visitors and about 1,200 classic and sports cars from all over Europe and continues to introduce new attractions every year.

The village of Saint Saturnin, the base of the "CBW", is a very active village, located on the edge of Le Mans, 8 km North of the Circuit of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and less than 10 minutes from the city centre.

Each year we choose a theme for our event and we are pleased to announce that 2017 it will be Marcos. We will celebrate 50 years since the first factory Marcos raced in the famous Le Mans 24 hours, so you can expect it to be a memorable event with Marcos as the central focus.

The event begins at 9 am. Admission and parking are free, with reserved parking for all Marcos cars. Our air-conditioned Cinema, live music and our Exhibition Hall are also free. There are a variety of stalls, displays, exhibitions, restaurants and bars at your disposal ... This makes our event quite unique, and we expect a very large gathering of Marcos owners and their cars.

There will be VIP guests, interviews, an exhibition of road and race Marcos cars, and prizes for the best Marcos and Mini Marcos.

One of the highlights of the event is the departure at 16.00 of 5 Marcos cars representing the Theme to take part in the “Grand Parade des Pilotes” (the famous Drivers Parade) in the centre of Le Mans. Another 40 multi marque cars also drive to Le Mans via the local villages (with reserved parking) and are escorted by a large number of Harley Davidsons. It is quite a spectacle and a memorable drive.

If you own a Marcos and you can take part in the parade or exhibition, please contact your club or David Williams now. If you just want to come to the event, there is no need to book, but if you pre-register with your club, the first 50 Marcos cars will be eligible for a special "Marcos welcome pack".

We hope to give all Marcos cars reserved parking in the main arena on arrival at the site before 10.30 am.

The Club holds an Annual International Rally and Concours d'Elegance competition over a summer weekend.

The Rally weekend is usually arranged around a race meeting at a UK circuit. The Concours d'Elegance on the Saturday allows members to show off their own cars and marvel at others! Dinner on the Saturday evening provides an opportunity to make new friends and meet old acquaintances while on the Sunday we usually converge at a race meeting, with plenty of time to chat and compare notes on each other's cars.

However, it is not just the pampered cars that win the trophies - there are prizes for the best engineering modification and an originality prize for pre-1972 cars.

Details of the 2017 Annual Rally can be found here.
